I live in the City of Alchemy and Medicine, North Carolina. I write about people doing fantastical things in magical worlds. Sometimes they fall for each other and make sacrifices for their friends. Oh, and sometimes they love music and nature too. I live with my two sons,a guinea pig, a cat, and two dogs. Now that I have completed my MFA in creative writing, I find that I have a little extra time to play CLUE more often. I live in an L-shaped house dedicated to my grandmother. It has a secret library complete with fairies, venetian plastered walls, and a desk made out of clear blue glass.

The Lost Immortals: When Copper Suns Fall is my debut novel.

Excerpt
“So the kiss we shared? It was just one of those ‘caught up in the moment’ things?” he asked cautiously.

“No. It’s one of those super-complicated ‘I don’t quite know what to make of it yet’ things.” I looked away from him. His handsome face and sad eyes were more than I could handle at the moment. “Even though I admit that I enjoyed it, I’m not sure that we should do it again. Not until I figure out where things are with Pete, okay?”

“So, you enjoyed it?” He nodded his head a few times and then rose from his seat to make his way to the front door. I followed him through the foyer and turned the handle of the door to open it. Jacob thrust his hand against the door and held it closed. He pulled me to him and kissed me until I thought my knees would buckle.

“I just wanted to give you something to think about while you’re trying to figure the Pete thing out,” he taunted.

The Buttersmiths' Gold

BATTLES. BLUEBERRIES. BOVINES.

TORBJORN AND STORFJELL’S HISTORY UNFOLDS IN AN EPIC EVERTASTER NOVELLA.

Everyone knows the most coveted treasure of the Viking Age was blueberry muffins. Blueberry muffins so succulent that if you sniffed just a whiff, you'd want a whole bite. If you bit a bite, you'd want a batch; if you snatched a batch, you'd stop at nothing short of going to war just to claim them all.

Young Torbjorn Trofastsonn comes from the clan that makes them. He's a Viking through and

through – he's thirteen winters old, larger than most respectable rocks, and most of all, a Buttersmith. That's what he thinks anyway, until a charismatic merchant makes Torbjorn question his place among the muffin-makers. When Torbjorn lets the secret of his clan's muffin recipe slip, he calls doom and destruction down upon his peaceful village and forces his brother Storfjell and his clansmen to do the one thing they are ill-prepared to do: battle for their lives.

Tunuftol Review

Okay, today I have something extra special for you.  This series is a FABULOUS one for young and old alike.  When Ann Snizek first offered me the series to read I thought it would be a good one for my son and I to read for his Home Schooling.  And boy oh boy was I right!  I am so very happy to be bringing you a series that not only grabbed me and sucked me in to the point that I was yelled at by my husband for staying up until 3 in the morning reading, but one in which my son absorbed equally as fast.  And that is saying a lot.  He is 10 years old and absolutely LOVED this series.  I have never seen him read a series as fast other than Percy Jackson, so that should tell you something about this series!  Caught your attention with that huh?  Well read on and see if this series grabs you by reading the summary and my review.  I kindly provided links to Amazon so you can grab up your own copies.  And Book 3 which I was lucky enough to get is out SOON!

Rewrite Redemption Tour and Review

She’s sixteen. He’s seventeen. They don’t know each other…at least not yet.

She has a secret and her whole life revolves around keeping it. Every few months and with little warning, she simply disappears, pulled into the past for hours or even days. She’s terrified it will happen in front of someone, changing her life forever. So far, the only witnesses have been her parents, and that didn’t end well. She has no control over it and no idea why it happens to her.

She wants answers.

He has answers—at least he understands what’s going on. He has a secret, too. He’s part of an organization that goes back in time to rewrite reality. But he also has a problem. He broke the organization’s number-one rule by altering his own timeline. As punishment, he’s been blocked from time travel, which is most unfortunate. Because the changes he made to his timeline, accidentally resulted in disaster for his family. A disaster he’s now prevented from repairing. No one can travel beneath the organization’s radar except a Shadow. But they’re rare, so rare he’s never even met one.

Then he moves to her town.

This is a YA romance with paranormal/sci-fi elements.
Review
WOW!  I have to start my review with just that one word WOW!  This book is fabulous, and what is even more impressive is that the talent that J.H. Walker brought to this book is just amazing.

This story not only tells of the young girl who has lived her entire life disappearing into the past, but it paints a picture that is astounding.  And the ending, talk about closure!

I know time travel is tricky business in books due to time loops and all that high tech mumbo jumbo.  But this story does tackle that very issue in such a creative manner.  I loved how this isn't just a time travel story but one of major technological advancements.

Character Creation is always important to me, and this author has created characters that you not only are deeply attached to, but so in tuned to that you can almost predict what their response will be to any circumstance which happens.  Yes it has some romance, but not enough to make this a romance novel.  What this truly is, is a time travel story that is amazingly and creatively done.

This is one of the first time travel books that I can say I whole heartedly enjoyed.  I gladly give this book 5 amazing stars and I have to say I HIGHLY recommend this book to ANYONE who enjoys a fabulous story!

Details/Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.  This free book held no determination on my final review.

My life has been rather unconventional. Born insanely curious into an authoritarian, religious family, I know what it’s like to not fit in. My teen years were a struggle, and I remember them in all their intensity. That’s why I like writing for young adults.

I grew up in Central America, surrounded by jungle, and was never too far from the ocean. I observed other cultures, including an indigenous tribe that, at the time, had seen little of the modern world. While there, I slept in a hammock in a bamboo hut, dressed in tribal clothing, and helped bring three babies into the world in at the tender age of fourteen. I survived a hurricane aboard an ocean liner, canoeing through alligator infested waters, P.E., my brother’s pet tarantulas, sky diving, parasailing over the Pacific shoreline, rock climbing, a ropes course blindfolded, and walking barefoot across hot coals. I’m not done having experiences.

I attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, but was so obsessed in my quest to understand human behavior; I left midstream to travel the country and study with people doing groundbreaking work in the field. I’m certified in Ericksonian Hypnosis, am a Master of Neuro-linguistic Programming, and have worked with world-class athletes, including members of the U.S. Ski Team. I’ve completed advanced studies with some of the most brilliant minds of my time in the field of NLP and am a perpetual student of sociology and human behavior.

I live with my photographer husband in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. I’m surrounded by trees. And I will always remain insanely curious.
