David's Song Review

davids tour

David's Song Taken from the book cover: Annie only ever really loved two men in her life. One broke her heart, the other married her. Four children and fifteen years later, Annie’s marriage is in jeopardy. Money is tight and her husband questions the very foundation of their relationship. When Annie is unexpectedly given the opportunity to see the young man who broke her heart — a man who is now a megastar in the music industry — Annie is faced with choices. Choices that will determine what is of more value — a second chance at lost love and unfulfilled dreams or commitment, trust, and love built on years of experience. A psychologically subtle, yet compelling tale about how the instinct and need for love overcomes self-doubt and personal inadequacy.

This book begins with Annie who is going on a ladies only holiday.  She is having trouble in her marriage to Jeremy.  While on Holiday, she meets up with her first love.  I won't go into any details about what happens at all.  But I will say that this book shows real life in a manner that is both entertaining and enlightening.

The book leaves no one neutral because you as the reader will find yourself picking sides.  I won't say whose side I choose in any of the battles royal.  This book made me think about love and how it all works. As someone who has been quite literally dragged through the ringer for love, I have to say that I personally believe that what is worth the most is worth fighting for, in my case my Marriage to my current husband.  It took a lot for us to be together, and emotionally and mentally it was draining on levels most people could only dream about in nightmares, but in the end we won and are together and we value our relationship much more.  To me that is what this book is all about.

In the end Love conquers all right?  Well I for one won't spoil this book for you, but it is a fabulous story about love both inside and outside of marriage.  This book is NOT a typical romance novel so most of you will find it unique and that is always a good thing, staves off book boredom!
